My son wants to try that.    He's got Irish, Scots, Welsh, Amish, Finnish and Japanese that we know of.    I told him to save the money.    I've heard that the test can be inaccurate.    Plus, they're collecting DNA samples for the government.

Not sure about this...my daughter did it and no mention of Native American, but the missus and I both know of NA blood in our tree...at least so we've been told.

She did come back as 33% Irish, and with my wife and I both having serious Irish blood, that checks out...

I haven't done my but daughter did hers. Since my wife is pure bred after eliminating her 50% the rest was all my mongrel status. What she told me backed up what I has been told for years.

But they also have similar tests for dogs. I have a neighbor that payed something like $450 to find out something I could've told her for free.

I come from Western PA (in case ya didn't know).    My home town had many recent immigrants (1900 on) so my sister's second grade teacher wanted to know where her people were from.    Sis asked mom and mom told her, "We've been here as long as anyone can remember."    So, my sister repeated that to the 2nd grade teacher the next day.    The teach asks, "So, you're Native American (may have used another term but that was in the 50s)?"       Sis told the teacher, "Yep."     She sticks to that story to this day.

My Amish folks are from Switzerland where it was originated.    Everybody else is bandwagon Amish.
