Couldn't see it no matter how many times I watched.

Yeah great fake but in the live feed you can see that he never had the ball. It couldn't be seen because it was against the white uniform of the mets.

This inning wasn't  on Ross. He had to get 5 outs.

Ross still looks like a two or three inning pitcher. Long relief.

I get it that Joe Ross is young and everything, but he sure doesn't look ready for the adjustments that teams made against him since last season.

Go back and watch the live play and you'll see the ball. Wieters never caught it.

correction, I went back to see it again and Wieters did catch the ball but lost it when Duda's leg hit his glove. The ball then rolls up Duda's leg and he almost suitcases the baseball. When Duda is faling down you can see the ball hit his calf after it hit his butt.

MLB goes blue for prostate cancer awareness
http://m.mlb.com/news/article/237105660/mlb-goes-blue-for-prostate-cancer-awareness/
By Alyson Footer / MLB.com | @alysonfooter | June 17th, 2017

Nationals manager Dusty Baker is well aware of the statistics. He's just grateful he's not one of them. Baker survived prostate cancer more than 15 years ago, after being diagnosed with the malicious disease in December 2001. He knows not everyone is so lucky -- to catch it early, and to beat it -- and he is also well aware of the formula that can help others survive it, too. "Awareness is the key," Baker said. "Awareness and getting it as early as you can, because I'm 15 going on 16 years [cancer-free] now. "The most frightening, anxiety moments that I had [were] during my six- and three-month checkups. Because you always wonder."

...Over two days, teams are wearing the symbolic blue ribbon on their uniforms along with blue wristbands. Also, for the second consecutive year, players are wearing specially designed uniforms and caps to raise awareness and funds for the fight against prostate cancer.

The uniforms incorporate blue into the clubs' regular logos while the caps are highlighted by a blue shadow tech heather crown and graphite visor. Players also had options from two different pairs of blue-infused socks. All royalty payments from the sales of specialty caps and jerseys will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation and Stand Up To Cancer.

He kinda got screwed in that inning when Murphy lost the ball in the sun.

Yeah I think Ross has pitched ok. 2 of the 7 hits should have been outs.

Maybe so but it's not like he has pitched well this season so welch's point is valid.

Only if you count the one hit to Rendon an out. They were in the shift and that was what prevented Rendon from catching the ball cleanly. And if you're going to do that then you might as well adjust all the would be hits that the shift prevents against him.

Zimmerman now 2 for 16 or batting .125 at the Mutts in 4 games.
Morale of the Story: Do not make Zim the subject of the YNOT tiebreaker...  he will hear about it, try too hard, and suck.

Triple Crown Watch:
Zim has fallen to 2nd place in the NL for BA and HRs, and 5th in RBIs.

D'Arnaud should have been called out at first, when the ball was thrown away he made a move towards second before strolling back to the bag.  Zimmerman tagged him but the umpire must have been asleep on the play.

Sure. A couple of blips...Wieters might have held the throw home and Rendon made a fine play on the line-drive, but a lot of hits.

The 3-4-5 hitters need to do better than a 6 pitch inning.

But he had to dive for it. If not for the shift he gets that without having to move.

Been NANF today. My daughter got Christened and I have only just rid of the last malingerers who were drinking my inferior wine.

Looks like a pretty bad offensive performance on top of some errors that are mentioned  above (Murphy and Rendon?).

Murphy lost one in the sun. Rendon was not in position to make the play because of the shift.
