Know nothing of his defense but the offensive stats look good thus far.

Hook 'em horns.

[edit - 2016 6th round pick out of University of Texas, born 9/15/94]

I've seen him.  Defense looks pretty solid in terms of blocking and tags at home, although I wasn't in a position to judge framing.  Didn't get to see him throw against an actual steal attempt, but arm looked good in warmups.

It's really difficult to judge pitch framing at low levels, simply because the pitcher is so inconsistent. So much of pitch framing is being on the same page as your pitcher and knowing what's coming. Just getting them to strikes in Single A, or Double A even, is an achievement.

Which is fine, because there is a ton of other stuff to learn to do in the low levels. Like blocking and playing defense.

Barrera had his career second 4-hit game last night and has almost as many multi-hit games this season as 0-fers.

Would like to see him moved up to AA by the end of the year with a 2019 call-up possible.
