This stadium is a craphole I don't want to watch for three games.

How can their fans watch this 81 times a year?

The game is taking place between the lines. :smh:

I can't remember who played. I think the Red Sox. It was billed as an attempt to show MLB that DC deserved and could support a team IIRC.

I'm pretty sure I remember the cardinals playing in one of those games.

Here's an article about Shirley Povich that mentions the old timer game referenced earlier.

Murphy may be the best free-agent signing we've ever or will ever have.

Where is Billy Burns?

Traded to the Royals. Burns had a bad season last year.

Looks like a very nice field. You must not have been a fan during the AstroTurf days.

My man, Daniel Murphy.

Have to laugh at MAT when he hits homers, he really does look embarrassed.

Wasn't there an old-timers game at RFK back in the day where they didn't reconfigure the football stands?  Seems like the right field fence was at some ridiculously short distance...like maybe 230 feet.

I think that was the LF fence. When configured for football, the "bouncy" stands would roll out from underneath the 3B-side stands. At some point, probably by the late '70s, the stands were rusted into place. Nobody bothered to un-rust them while baseball was on "the long road-trip".

DC / RFK Stadium was always about 325 or 335 down the LF and RF lines. That was considered a short-porch compared to Griffith Stadium.

Maybe that's it. I wouldn't know.

Haven't been allowed within 100 yards of a school for the past 7 years.

With a good roll of the die and a game of Scattergories, he could end up one short.

You are correct sir. 200' left field rusted stand fence.
