I heard the call initially on the radio. After seeing the video I don't fault Harper as much. I don't think it will be a severe suspension.

They showed the 2014 replays of Bryce's homers off Strickland, Bryce did nothing to deserve the attention.  Strickland was just butt hurt.

Dusty Baker when asked if he was concerned whether Harper's actions may result in suspension. His response: "what's a man supposed to do?"
That's why players love him.

Automatic suspension if he admits it.  None of them do...

Wouldn't it be refreshing to hear, "Yeah, I threw my helmet at him.    I only regret it slipped out of my hand.   I beg the mercy of the court because I didn't hit the SOB with my bat."

I voted 4-5.

I hope it's exactly as long as our next home stand with the Marlins or Barves or some other dreadful team. Have a nice time dropping your appeal then getting massages and hitting the cages, Bruce!

After my original post, I googled it.     If it's for "cool kids", I'll just move on.    :)

As some noted, if the giants had an issue with Harper they would have hit him in 2015.  This was all Strickland.

So a lot of call commentary focuses on helmet throw and how that was where Harper went over the line. Is throwing a helmet at a guy so much worse than charging the mound and throwing a punch? Or beaning a guy? I imagine if the three, that throwing the helmet has the least potential to do damage.

I'm guessing 5 for each. I wish Harper didn't charge him because the lineup isn't exactly mowing teams down now but I get why he did it. I would hope I could show restraint but hope is all I could guarantee for that.

I wonder if it was awkward for all the guys and Span, Melancon and Morse. I'm betting all the guys who played together are probably still cool with each other. Probably like when mommy and daddy fight.

He got scant support from his teammates, Posey just watching and the infield slow to respond.  Who was that that collided with Morse?

Then it took four of them to get him off the field, and he throwing elbows and shoving Pence in the face the whole way off the field.  Pence, who's on the DL with a hammy.    :?

Harper didn't throw his helmet anywhere near Strickland, I'd say he's got plausible deniability on his side.

Melancon was one of the guys holding Glover back. Honestly I don't think there's tons of bad blood between the teams and none between players who've played together. I think the Giants see Strickland as their Papelbon, minus the blown saves and pictures.
