I don't know about no chance against the Dodgers, but I believe we'll get swept this weekend.

So do the Nats, by the way Harper and Zimmerman are wilting and Stras refuses to pitch.

RayD, nice to see an old friend and right on point. 'Angelossux" to be exact.

Go to "members", and sort by Date Registered, you'll see quite a few folks from the old days that jumped over here when the trolling and lack of control over the MLB board made it lousy.

Enjoying the season as it is isn't such a novel idea, is it?  Nor does it have any impact on the playoff outcomes, so might as well enjoy what you have in front of you when it's there.

Live the moment.  The playoffs will be what they will be.  We went in the last two times as big favorites to get to the WS.  This time around we're likely to face the Cubs as the underdog.  Maybe we finally have our Rocky moment.

That quote sounds like something Randall "Tex" Cobb would say.

Now that's a blast from the past.  He was quite a character, and also displayed enormous character in the ring, but boy did Holmes pound him.

I wonder if he's showing dementia now?

It sounds like what I said a couple of weeks ago. Nice to see it in print.  😉.  Even if I’m not as cool as spider and slate, my way is more fun than putting all your energy in the postseason.

Those who put all their energy into the postseason, I don't criticize them for that.  What I DO criticize them for is accusing the rest of us of not being serious enough.  IT'S A GAME.  WE ENJOY IT!  Baseball exists for the purpose of enjoyment, not agony.

  @ those who think that those of us who believe that titles is what you play the game for don't enjoy the regular season. I've enjoyed every regular season since 2005.

Agreed.  It gets tiring watching the regular season and not getting the payoff at the end of it, but the grind is still appealing.  I just love the sport and could watch any game and take something away from it.

For many of us it's not difficult after all these years of Capitals post-season failures...the Nationals are keeping up this tradition in fine style.

Those who think that those of us who enjoy the regular season don't care about the playoffs:  I've enjoyed every playoff run and I hope this is another one.

There is still an enjoyment to watching a team dominate over 162 games. Remember some of those god awful Nats teams from 08-10? I'll take this anytime. October is a crapshoot anyway.

It's getting less enjoyable as these injuries pile up and the quality of play is dropping as a result

In 2012 and 2014 I agreed with you. But we've become the most winning regular season team in the last 5 seasons with no post-season success. This is basically what happened to the Capitals.

The post-season is not a crap shoot in baseball. The cream rises to the top. It's not a crap shoot that this team, with this core group, has failed three times in the postseason.
