Nats lost 7 in a row I think just last year and the world kept going.

Cold streaks follow hot streaks.

But back then there was no MLB tv and not as many games televised.  Only rarely saw them on national tv when the Red Sox, Yankees and Cards needed a break.

...assuming there is a post season (which would be the first-ever in Washington in an odd-numbered year since 1933)...there is now doubt where there was once optimism.

Plenty of time left to foster a culture of losing baseball....

I am apathetic about the post season. They have no chance against the Dodgers and look for them to  be swept in Chicago this weekend.

I don't know about no chance against the Dodgers, but I believe we'll get swept this weekend.

Lot of history there. Go look at the Nationals MLB message board.

He was on the MLB board for years (since the birth of the Nats) with the name IHateAgelos or something to that effect.  Angelos himself got wind of this only recently, and had him banned.  The new name is fake contrition.

That's a sore spot for me. My kids were 9 and 12 in 2005 when DC got the Nats. It would have been nice to take them to games when they were younger. All those memories that could have been....

My kids were in college by then. Son has never really followed baseball and is a football and basketball fan. Perhaps it would be different if the team had come earlier. Daughter not a sports fan so probably not relevant with her. She is a good "sport" and will go to games with me now.

RayD, nice to see an old friend and right on point. 'Angelossux" to be exact. It is fake contrition as is my fake respect for all those in the wide expanse of NatsTown including the Washington media who do in fact love dem Os hon and give money and print and air time to Mr. Toadface, aka Peter Angelos the bastard twin son of Satan....the other being the one Daniel Snyder....Mr. Snyder to all the suck ups who work for him at his asylum

I kind of thought it was because you had a thing for Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson, and Jacquelyn Smith.

I'm a little concerned about apathy on the resale market, only one home series in the last two months against a playoff team and no games of real consequences. Scherzer and Strasburg better come back or the park will be a quarter full in September.
