Love all the loading up on arms. Montes De Orca sounds like my kind of pick. We need to replenish the arms in the system badly and this year should go a long way. I hope we do the same thing next year and add a ton of arms.

Complete list of guys who are in the CWS that we have taken for those curious:

Cole Freeman: 4th round pick 133 - 2B LSU - Top position player taken. http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=210240533

Brigham Hill - 5th round pick 163 - SP Texas A&M - Should be starting game 1 for the Aggies this Sunday, at 2 pm on ESPN.  http://www.12thman.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2465

Nick Choruby - 18th round pick 553 - OF Texas A&M - http://www.12thman.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=433

Tim Richards - 24th round pick 733 - SS Cal State Fullerton - http://www.fullertontitans.com/sports/m-basebl/2016-17/bios/richards_timmy_acwy

Max Engelbrekt - 40th round pick 1213 - LHP Oregon State - Closer for the Beavers. http://www.osubeavers.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=3162

That's why you have to love the MLB draft, it keeps going into rounds where even the teams place no value on picks

Remember that one year that a team picked a guy who lost his arms? And I think there was a pick or two where the chosen player was in an accident and left paralyzed.

Two Hall of Famers (Smoltz and Sandberg) were picked after Round 20. Albert Pujols was selected in Round 13. Dusty Baker was taken in Round 26.

Just sayin.

great, we just drafted someone we probably won't even try to sign - if the picks have value, than whoever did signed off should be fired, of course a handful of examples over the course of thousands of late round picks probably statistical anomalies that mean nothing

Chip off the old block   ....

@MLBDraft @Nationals I'm sure Darren feels confident he was chosen based solely on his own merit.

The announcers yesterday said Richards should be able to go to Double A right away.

He has always stated he is going to play at Cal, near his home. Most teams are not drafting guys they are not going to sign. When he hits MLB his dad will be retired, likely managing someplace that values a manager in 2018-19

Center fielder Joey Bartosic, a native of Oakton, Va., was selected in the 19th round with the 566th overall pick out of George Washington University ... the 6-0, 190-pound outfielder batted .333 (79-for-237) with 39 runs, 14 doubles, one home run, 26 RBI, 24 walks and 24 stolen bases in his senior year at GW in 2017 ... in 2016, was a ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region First-Team selection and a First-Team All-Atlantic 10 selection in his second consecutive year as Most Valuable Player at GW.

This kid was in my son's HS class, and my son found where Joey signed my son's yearbook from elementary school.  I had to correct him, it's no longer a signature but is now an "autograph".

His mom also worked with my wife on PTSA stuff.  Good luck Joey!

Brigham Hill signed on 6/27.  I can't find anything on the unsigned.  Not sure what the hold up is.

Strangely, my wife babysat Joey and his brother when they were wee ones.

Looks like everyone is signed except Romero.

Well that's good. Maybe he won't sign. 99% of the time I love who they select, not this year. And that isn't because of his issues....it's any baggage coupled with a low ceiling IMO.

We will see-maybe their strategy is to get a compensation pick for next year, who knows.
