Watching the Astros game and they had a stat of the best hitting teams in baseball.

Astros leads MLB at .283. Nats are next at .279. Then everyone else is at least 10 points behind.

For kicks, I took out the pitchers stats and the Nats jump to .287.

This is being down with Eaton hurt most of the year, Trea Turner having been only okay when healthy, and Harper being good but not 2015.

If the Nats keep this pace up I think the key has to be players like Goodwin, Taylor, Difo, and Raburn credit for competing at the plate. You pay and expect backups like Lind and Drew to hit, but once you get past the top bench players you usually don't expect to get quality production from the end of the bench. They're not a drag on a lineup that's had three opening day starters miss time.

The Nats are due a cold streak or two before the end of the season but a Harper power surge or Turner coming back with a vengeance could make 900 possible,

I do wish we could have seen this lineup with Eaton and Turner at the top of it. Hopefully we get that next year, because dang, that would have been fun to watch all summer.
