If last night was any indication, the place should be a zoo today...

Great Falls , Va every Saturday in front of the Brogue restaurant. Let me know if you need more details. I would be happy to meet you there when I show my car.

I've been a fan of The Old Brogue for a long time.    :)     It's a great watering hole on the way to E. Loudoun after a Nats' day game.

Did you see the Jag with the huge gas leak?

Also, there was a '58 Triumph TR3 identical to my neighbor's.  I think the neighbor is convinced to take his there for the first time next Saturday morning.  He said too that the red Sunbeam Tiger there probably has a 289 similar to Cobra engines, do you know anything about that?

As best I remember, the Triumph Sunbeam was an economy-priced mini-sports car, little brother (or sister) to the TR-4. Would a Sunbeam have been able to carry the Ford 289 cubic inch V-8?

We are going to tonight's game at CitiField: Sept. 23, seats in section 126...just up the LF line from the Nats' dugout.

The Tiger did...you had to pull the engine to change the spark plugs...

Most excellent! Maybe you can engage some Mets fans in a discussion of how well they have handled their pitching staff?

Nats' gear?    What should we look for?

Red curly-W hat and Rendon tee-shirt for me. Daughter has long red hair, and usually wears red-bill Nats hat. If I'm feeling "historic", I might put on vintage 1960 number 3 Senators jersey. That was Harmon Killebrew.

Ha! I know a guy -- only Met fan in the neighborhood -- who freely admits that the Mets over-worked their young pitchers in 2015 and fouled them up in 2016. He thinks Alderson should be fired and would be except that Wilpon is a crook and too cheap to hire a good replacement.

Painful game for Met fans. Syndegard will start and pitch one inning, just to test his torn back muscle. Then Matt Harvey takes over, the same Matt Harvey of the CitiField chant to Strasburg, "Harvey's better than you are". Strasburg is scheduled to pitch for the Nats.

Looked up 126 and it appears you're be right up from the tarp.    Gives me a landmark.

Lookin' good per Chelsea Janes:

Nats today, Werth in left, no Zim: Turner SS, Werth LF, Murphy 2B, Rendon 3B, Lind 1B, Taylor CF, Stevenson RF, Wieters C, Strasburg P.

That was a chant at Nats Park also.

Sunbeam wasn't Triumph, I don't think. Sunbeam was Rootes, Triumph was Triumph Motor Company. (Of course, they could have been related behind the scenes in ways that I don't understand.)

My BiL bought and raced a Sunbeam Alpine (the car on which the Tiger was based) SCCA for a while. I thought he was nuts. He eventually went back to racing Civics.

I thought Sunbeam made toasters.

Well, the car wasn't much bigger. Driving it was a workout. You forget what cars were like without power steering or brakes.

Went this morning, the highlight was the guy who drove his Stanley Steamer in.   What a show, silent propulsion but big clouds of steam coming from seemingly everywhere.  I never did find out what he was using to boil the water - coal?

I did see the Jag being flatbedded out . The Sunbeam Tiger ( like the one Princess Grace was killed in ) had a Ford 289 Hi-Po like the CSX -2000 Cobras before they went to the 427. The first 75 Cobras actually had a 260 V-8

When I was racing at Summit Point 10 years ago there were several Sunbeam Tigers on the starting grid.
