I remember drinkin' WIR when it was like 25 or 30% alcohol (probably 11%).    We used to call it the WIR Route.

My band plays Drinkin' Wine by Sticks, his is the first recording but apparently that song came back from France after WW2 with veterans who drove trucks in the Red Ball Express. Original lyrics were, "Drinkin' wine mother f@cker, drinkin' wine - pass that bottle to me." Had to clean that one up for recording....
