Funny thing is, growing up I loved the all star game. Back then the players cared about it. Now, pitchers opting out - or their teams opting them out - by pitching them on Sunday so they can't pitch Tuesday, cheapens the game significantly. Players like Jeter and Desmond, opting out because they want the time off. I don't blame any of them for it, but if they don't care enough about the game then I don't either.
