Anyone else think they call this one off early and change tomorrow's 4:05 start time so they can get in a day/night split double header?

The Marlins have to travel after the game, granted it's just to Philly but the hardest part of the trip is getting everyone and everything packed up here and unpacked on the other end. That takes a couple hours and makes for a long night.  With the Fish in the wild card race, I'd imagine MLB would prefer a super late night game tonight over a double header, travel and a super late night tomorrow.

That said-- if they *are* going to make a switch, i hope they do it before I leave for the ballpark because I'm really grumpy today and don't feel like getting halfway there only to turn back.

Traditional doubleheader.  There's really no choice.  Lot's of people are going to be furious about having to travel to the game only to wait three hours before it's postponed.  Lot's of people are going to be pissed if they change the time tomorrow to 1, only because they are too cheap to schedule a traditional doubleheader, when many of tomorrow's ticket holders bought this game because they like the 4pm start time and cannot make it to a 1pm game.

While I would be pissed if they change tomorrow's game to 1 PM (4 pm is so much easier), I don't think there is any way they do a traditional doubleheader. It doesn't seem to be in the team's way of doing things.
There is a common off day on September 11 between a trip to Atlanta and a trip to Philadelphia for the Marlins, seems easy enough to stop in DC. It's between two home series against the Phillies and the Braves for the Nats.

A traditional doubleheader beginning at noon (with 4pm ticket holders getting both games) would end at  about the same time as a single game starting at 4.

Nats players would have to approve a double header, wouldn't they?

Regardless. A cold damp night. I won't be using my tickets and I hope Dusty puts the C team line up on his card. No more injuries to key just to get the game in

capital weather gang says the storms should lift out in time for tonight's game.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2017/08/29/nationals-vs-marlins-weather-forecast-showers-should-clear-in-time/

weather.com now more or less confirming - 30% at first pitch and more or less that chance of precip through normal match hours.

D.C. region -- rain is starting to lighten up a bit. Tapers off 6-7pm. Nats delay possible.

But do you really want to play a game when it's been pouring all game? Isn't that how Bryce got hurt?

Looks like a day for the subs. Definitely don't see any reason to risk Werth or Turner.

last weekend was 'players weekend,' tonight should be 'fans night' in which fans are invited to play in actual games.

This needs to be a thing. Like have fans from every division play each other during the ASB

But, but, what about the Harper action figure for tonight's game?

I'm not going tonight until I know they're playing. I'm not driving there just for the action figure. And I don't live that far.

Yeah it was starting to look more promising. Since then it has deteriorated rapidly.   Call this game off, now!

Can some one tell me why Taylor isn't playing and De Aza is?

Only Dusty can say but a guess may be they don't want Taylor to get hurt in weather conditions which should require the game be cancelled

Looking solid for our first two NLDS fixtures - partly cloudy, high 85, low 63, no precip for Friday; sunny with high 84 and low 67 and 10% chance of precip.

Looks like Nats park will be pitcher friendly with no humidity and a cool breeze.

The above forecast is still holding with a few small tweaks here and there.

Could get a little hairy for Game 3 in Chicago with 50% chance of precip ('PM showers') with high 73 and low 57. Tuesday for Game 4 they're calling for just 10% chance of precip with high 66 and low 52.

Was actually hoping for a little cooler weather for Game 1.  Let's hope Strass stays hydrated and isn't hit with calf cramps by the fourth or fifth inning.

The training staff and dietitians need to sneak a few thousand mg's of sodium into his pregame meals...
