Monday isn’t looking great...
If that's the case I get to see Scherzer pitch on Tuesday

3 inches of rain is a ton of rain. think of it in this context if it was snow it would be 30 inches of snow.

Good thing we're not playing this game in January, then.

July 5th game to be made up as part of split doubleheader on Sunday August 27. The second game (the makeup game) will be scheduled for 8:08 pm.
That’s too late for me.

Latest reading on weather.com has the chance of precip dropping to 45% at 18.00, to 25% by first pitch and 15% thereafter. The real determinant for tonight will be how playable/unplayable the field is from all the rain falling during the day.

The drainage is pretty good.  If the rain really winds down by 6pm, I bet they start by 8 or so and get it in.

I don't like Scherzer pitching in such a nasty weather day.

I'm taking every single precaution possible with such a huge division lead.

It's been a steady, soaking rain most of the day with periods of heavy downpour. I think it'll need to end sooner than 6 if there's a chance to play, even with the drainage.

I think the sudden announcement of the makeup game with the Mets was done in order to make it easier to postpone this one and risk not rescheduling it.  This is the last time the Marlins come to visit so it'll be MLB's decision to play or not.

Marlins are here again 8/28-30.  In any case, rain appears to be about done in the city.  I think we'll play on time, or at worst after a short delay.

Since Max is on the mound, I guess you'll start today's GDT.    :poke:

TUESDAY 8th: despite an unpromising start, weather.com is not calling for any higher than 15% chance of precip the rest of today (and much of the day the chance is nil). Tonight's match looks like a go.

Next one to keep a weather-eye on is the Giants opener on Friday - weather.com currently predicting 'scattered thunderstorms' with 35-50% chance of rain during normal playing times that evening.
