The season is about to begin and the trade thread will live forever as a way of analyzing the trade. This here be a regular old player thread. I think Eaton is gonna have a huge year defensively, and a whatever year offensively. 3.5 WAR.

Terrible in the field today. Not great routes and the guy has no arm.

he looks like a cross between Kevin Fransden and Danny Espinosa.

That's a sexy combo.

He's a lot faster than I was led to believe. Eye test.

He only liked having the kid around because he was taller than him...

  • 2016 - the year that everything changed, again.
Terrible in the field today. Not great routes and the guy has no arm.

Offense was great, got on base early and often, excellent speed.
Defense....No one really tested his arm yesterday, both doubles into CF were clean shots into the gaps with runners who were clearly going no further.
(and the ball he tossed up to me in the 7th had some pretty good heft to it and was right on target - so I might be prejudiced just a little)

Eaton's a good player. Rizzo won another trade. Badly too I might add.

Really good player who will be solid in the lineup in the coming years. Hitting ahead of Harper, Murphy and Rendon he'll score 100 runs this year. He'll get on base (consistently around .360). He'll hit 12-15 home runs and steal 15-20 bases. What more could you ask? Defensively, he may be better suited to a corner outfield slot, but he'll be fine in center. I would expect him to move to left next year once Werth is gone with Taylor keeping the center field seat warm for Robles.

Watching double steals all season is gonna be fun.

I didn't think his arm looked all that strong either.

As strong as Ben Revere?

There's a point of comparison.

Thought: Bryce likes CF.

He'll have plenty of opportunity to play it in the Bronx.

You guys would hate this guy if he put up 8.0 WAR.

He thinks Drake LaRoche is a leader.

He wouldn't be the first pinhead to play the game well.

Sure, but get him started early. Might get more in trade.

He'll have plenty of opportunity to play it in the Bronx.

I think he'll be great. When Turner and Eaton both get on, watch out.

You guys would hate this guy if he put up 8.0 WAR.

Not at all, and he's proven it quite well so far in his career.

I noticed the one to 3rd in the first was a double bouncer.
