I have no recollection of other All Star Game logos but that one is really quite splendid

I like the Mayor is steppin' up on Metro.    I may not make it to the game but I hope to take in some of the other activities.

Maybe Metro is finally getting it. They've already announced they'll open two hours early on the day of the Marine Corps Marathon.

The Commandant gave 'em an offer they couldn't refuse.

I'd try to go to the HR Derby AND the game, how often do you get a chance to see a lot of great players at the same time? Plus it seems it'd be a great party

They just finished their "Safetrack" emergency repair program a few weeks ago, so they don't have the "safety issue" excuse anymore.

...or the Federal Transit Administration breathing down their necks. Even after SafeTrack was launched the FTA was still hounding Metro management with ultimata (some of which were admittedly deserved).

Money. I'd be willing to bet this means that the DC  Government is paying Metro to stay open and with lots of trains on the tracks.

The Commandant gave 'em an offer they couldn't refuse.
