Who gives a crap? We've already proven that home field advantage means nothing in the playoffs.

It means fans can attend 2 postseason games instead of just 1.

Would you rather watch the games in the park or on TV?

TV. With it muted and Charlie and Dave synced to the TV.

Just because you don’t enjoy attending Nats games (or actually anything about being a Nats fan from what I can tell) doesn’t mean that others don’t. Having an extra game at home is a plus for most people, not just the Lerners.

I wouldn't say the Dodgers are realistically in play yet up by 6 this late in the season.  But if we make up a couple more games, then who knows.

Do we rather face the Cubs or the wild card?  Conventional wisdom says the wild card.  But the WC is 3-2 in the NLDS in this format and 2-3 in the AL.   2 of the NL wins came against us for what that's worth!   Is burning your ace a real disadvantage?   It actually makes for interesting match-ups if the WC has a decent rotation. 2vs1, 3vs2 for the first 2 games.  If you can take one of those games, then you come home with your ace against their #3.

I absolutely don't want the Diamondbacks.  Even though we did well against them this season, they're hot and they have a lot of talent.

The comment literally right above mine. Or at least it was heavily implied.  If that’s the point you want to nitpick, I guess. The point was you make it clear you don’t care whether these games are at home when many of us clearly do.

Right. They're a playoff team. They're all gonna be that way.

So you shouldn't attempt to get homefield advantage because we've had it before and still lost? That's absolutely ridiculous. Even for you lol

Prefer to watch at home =/= Not enjoying attending game

Sorry, I don't particularly enjoy dropping close to a hundred freaking dollars and fighting through 2 or more hours of traffic to see a game that I'm already paying a cable bill to have on TV. The game, sure. Everything else associated with it, not really.

I really don't care whether they are home or not because I care about the team WINNING. As in, winning more than another stupid "division title." I swear, people are more concerned with regular season success than winning when it actually matters. This team has the second most wins in baseball from 2012 to present and they can't even get out of the divisional round. They have two "once in a generation" talents on the team and continually step on their meat in the playoffs.

So no, I don't care how many home games we have in the playoffs. The game could be played in Constantinople for all I give a crap, so long as the Nationals win. And as near as I can tell, home field advantage means exactly dick in the playoffs. Particularly for this team.

Unless you can tell me that being at home hinders their chances of winning this logic makes no sense. And people saying, “it would be nice to have an extra playoff game at home” does not equal “I only care about regular season success” or “I don’t care about winning the WS” I am not sure how you came to this conclusion. It seems that you think that if someone doesn’t think like you, they must not care about Nats’ success.

Give me the Wild Card team.  The Cubs are underachieving this season, but they are the reigning world champions and still have most of their key pieces from last year.

The real question is about if you want the Cubs or Snakes. HFA vs. The Dodgers only exists if you win a round.

At this point I would rather face the Cubs.

It doesn't matter. They're both good teams.

It doesn't matter who the Nationals play. They have to be healthy, show up, and perform. Same as it's been for every other playoff appearance.

Slate isn't the only one who doesn't give a crap about something that isn't going to happen or that has been shown not to mean a damn thing to this team.

That's already guaranteed for the first round. They won't need homefield advantage for subsequent rounds.

Anyway, it's not guaranteed.  The series could be over in three games. Home field advantage guarantees 2 home games.
