Ok but Miami could lose the next 10 (or 11) and they are eliminated. Meanwhile we lose all the rest of our games and Braves win all theirs, they win the division.
Sure. And my wife could agree to a three way with her good friend, Lacey Chabert. About the same odds of happening.

The magic # tracker is nice but lets be real, the division race was over on Memorial Day. The season's been a formality.

Not even worth tracking the home field advantage race.

Mets are eliminated from winning the NL East and are 14 games behind for the second wild card spot.

Jacob de Grom gave up 9 runs in 3.1 IP to the Phillies.

Lady Gaga played a concert at Citi Field then got sick and had to cancel her next show.

Mets so broken that even Lady Gaga went on the DL  :hysterical:  :hysterical:  :hysterical:

I am surprised they haven't talked about moving the game up this afternoon or cancelling.  It sounds like Miami might start evacuations tonight.

but everyone told me their starting pitching would dominate for 10 years

they said on the marlins broadcast that they are converting the stadium to hurricane mode Thursday night. Supposedly they have air vents that allow the windshear to enter the stadium to stop it from ripping the roof off and they can actually raise the height of the stadium to prevent flooding. The guy who is in charge was on and he said the stadium is designed to handle a category 4 storm.

The storm isn't supposed to hit until the weekend.  They're starting evacuations now so the roads won't be clogged at the last minute.  The team shouldn't have any problems flying out tonight.

But it's category 5.

But it's category 5.

It likely won’t hit Miami with Category 5 strength. :crosses fingers:

Fort Lauderdale has already ordered evacuations, and Miami is expected tomorrow.  There's probably going to be lots of swinging early in counts tonight so that both teams can get out of town tonight.  Marlins are allowed to bring their families on the road trip, so they'll probably be the only people in attendance.

I've read that they are already out of gas and water in Miami.  It seems odd they would play a game tonight when I'm sure the resources required to run the game could be put towards something more useful.  And what's the deal with the Nats going into these cities and leaving destructive hurricanes in their wake??

Since the division race is over Dusty should just call Mattingly and come to a gentlemen's agreement of sorts. Both Ps throw a lot of strikes, hitters swing early, no useless challenges or arguing with umps. Just get the game over with as fast as possible.

I'm surprised they didn't move the game to early in the afternoon.
