He's been a joy to watch. How do you like the decision to sign him over Jordan Zimmermann now?http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2710937-jordan-zimmermann-on-unstoppable-path-to-becoming-a-110m-disaster
The Nats were not in a position to have to pick one over the other. JZ wanted a different area to live & work.
With 1,666 strikeouts, Strasburg tied Kerry Wood for the most strikeouts by any big league starter in his first 1,000 innings.
It should be 1166.
worth a read: While we wait for Strasburg to be Kershaw, the reality is that he's been a pretty good pitcher so far:http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/stephen-strasburg-has-already-had-a-good-career/
I don't think anyone questions whether or not he's good, it's whether or not he'll be pitching a full season and so far he's had more partial than full seasons (2012, 2015 or 2016 vs. 2013 and 2014)
Paging the jinx fairies
Since coming off the DL, he's only given up a 2 run HR in the first inning of his first start. 20 straight scoreless since.
Yesterday was cool, but I hope Dusty limits Stras to 6 or 7 innings max in September.
He basically came out and said he's going six man.
Strasburg being on his game and fairly fresh bodes well for the postseason. Going to be very hard to beat him or Max with our offense.
