Apparently they want the #1 overall for Jimmy G. The Cleveland Steamers would make that trade!

Oh man, we so greedy  of course BB will just trade it for 5th rounders for the next 10 years lol  :?

If they cut him, will he count toward the cap?     I don't know how that stuff works.

Upon further review, it doesn't matter.    It's the Browns.

His 2017 salary is guaranteed so the Browns are on the hook for 16 million if they cut him. But that's assuming that the Texans didn't agree to pay for part, or all, of the 16 million. I think it's hilarious that the Texans traded their 2nd for a 4th :hysterical: AND threw in a QB to sweeten the deal. :lmao: That's like a school kid trading away his ice cream cone for baked beans and throwing in a side of succoatash to make the deal more atractive.

I wonder how Griffin is taking the news that the Browns acquired another QB.

No, they traded their crappy, over paid QB and threw in a second rounder to sweeten the deal.

the Jimmy G rumors are getting crazy right now.  Watt and a #1 from Houston.  Yah, right.

What do you make of his weird Instagram "goodbye" post? I mean I heard it was hacked but it's still up there, the hacking thing is pretty played out IMO.

I saw yesterday that the Browns have something like $100 million in cap space, so they can easily afford this kind of deal, even if they have pick up some of Osweiler's salary in a second trade.

Griffin will get cut by the Browns opening the way for his return to Washington after Cousins gets traded for a 3rd rounder. :stir:

The question is, which position will Slateman take on Griffin if he returns?

It's a great move by their front office. You know you're going to suck for at least another season. Basically bought a draft pick. Brilliant.

Wasn't Mike Glennon showing flashes of becoming a good qb in Tampa but for whatever reason Lovie brought in Josh McCown and announced him the starter before they'd even begun practice? For some reason I think he might end up being decent for the Bears.

So it costs 16 million to move up 2 rounds in the draft?

If you have the cap room and an owner willing to spend, what's the downside?

Exactly. Pretty most bad/average teams would be willing to give up 16 million in cap space to go from a 4th rounder to a 2nd rounder.

You might end up spending 16 million to end up with Reggie Brooks.

Meh, you might spend it to end up with an elite talent under a cost controlled contract for four years

That could also happen with your 4th rounder.

I feel like the drop off in likelihood of lasting 4+ seasons in the NFL is really high between the 4th and 2nd round, but I don't have any data to back that up.

RGIII cut by Cleveland.

Does the Washington Valor have a QB yet?

6th. I would also consider that part of the reason some of them last longer is the unwillingness of most teams to part with a player they drafted in the 1st two rounds as opposed to mid to late round draft picks.

this could be interesting (also this is why I still read deadspin, espn has their tongue too far up the league's ass to report on this)
