Yeah, but that's a lot of human skin to waste.  You could probably wallpaper two Treas with it.

Blanton says he found a mechanical issue.

In fairness, I guess he never said anything about fixing it.

Do we get a loaner while it's being fixed?

He looked good  yesterday. Might he get an extended stay in the bigs?

He hasn't done well in prior years. Hard to get excited over one appearance.

I didn't find it that difficult.

Just what we need...a sub-1 WAR & 4.35 career ERA past his prime pitcher...

Blanton has had a unusual career. Halfway decent starter who was out of baseball in 2014.  Has been a good reliever the past few years. His stats are very good as a reliever in 2015 and 2016. Did he lose it earlier this year? Or was he injured?

I'd settle for 100 pitches without givin' up a home run.

Blanton only gave up one run in one inning. Therefore, he's a safe relief pitcher when the Nats have a four run lead starting the seventh. Better than Kelley or Ollie.

He's given up one run in THREE innings. That basically makes him the best reliever right now.

Depends. If my-daughter-the-baseball-fan invites me for Saturday, then yes. (Wife hates all sports except soccer, and then only when the Dutch national team is playing) Sunday is Father's day.

Threw strikes today with the big lead. Don't worry. He will be sharp on the next one.

Zuckerman alluded to the fact that the Nats may be willing to DFA Blanton like they did Papelbon since he is only due 2 Million more. He also said that the probably won't do that with Kelley since he still has one year left and a sizable(ish) amount left on his contract.

He's only taking up a roster spot, but so are most of our relievers.  He was in the perfect position today...up 10 or more runs and eating an inning.  DFA'ng him only makes sense if they have a quality replacement...and they don't...yet.

Totally agreed. I took Zuckerman's words as "Blanton is getting DFA'd when Mike make a move". He speculated that Koda, Enny, Albers, and likely Perez are locks to stay, but the rest are all a crapshoot if Kelley is "healthy". My hope is that Turner stays as the long man (MAX ONCE THROUGH A LINEUP) and Solis comes back healthy maybe making Perez expendable. I'd like Justin Wilson, David Robertson, and Pat Neshak but that is obviously not going to happen. The Nats may get one of those guys, and hopefully two with another middle tier guy like Hand.
