Good evening ladies and gents, sorry about my conspicuous absence thus far this weekend.  I've traveled home to visit family and do the Mother's Day thing, so I've been a bit preoccupied.  Glad to see us finally blow one open last night.  I really hope we can seal the deal tonight and win our first series of the season!

Still looks like another good half hour of rain in DC according to the Weatherbug radar.  :(

Oh is there a rain delay?

EDIT - haha, it *just* showed up on gameday for me.

Howdy all.

Sunny and warm in Toronto today. Wassup with the rain? Anyone know if it's going to clear?

Someone remarked earlier about the number of posters. IMO there would be more posters here if there wasn't a group of people whose every second comment and depth of knowledge wasn't limited to "WTF".

That was me.  And I agree, some people are turned off by that.  However, the "Ignore" button should work just fine.

I tried to steer the conversation to a more adult topic, but all they wanted to talk about was rain.

I really want this game to start. Being at a rain delay game i think would be fun, especially if it's a long one. By time the game starts most people have bounced, so you can have free reign on seats.

is anyone actually using the Ignore button? I know I can't generalize from me, but I can't imagine not having one of our posters. I enjoy them all!

There was a commercial on MASN (during MASH) for the Tyra Banks show (?) that featured various women talking about love life problems.  One was asking how she could tell her boyfriend how to hit the "right" spot.  Of course, we were dancing around the topic with our two kids who were watching.  I'm not sure my 8 year old daughter needs to find her spot yet.

So my earlier comment would have made sense only to someone who had seen the commercial.

Sorry, I'll try not to make such obscure references in the future.

hope it doesn't get ppd. This is probably Chico's start all year. Hate to have it takened away from him.

That's funny, when the commercial came on before (it was just on again) I also thought about saying something like: Just tell him where the right spot is for you!

Did you mean to say "This is probably Chico's last start all year.  Hate to see it taken away from him."

Right.  That would seem an important issue warranting direct and clear communication between the parties.

The grounds crew just started coming out to see what they can do with the field, but the delay continues per Johnny Halliday.

From the comments of the announcers, it sounds like the field is in lousy shape, and would require a substantial amount of time to bring up to snuff.
