Cook Out is excellent fast food.  Huge menu, solid quality and inexpensive.

It's by far the best value in fast food.

ha I'll remind you how awful it is to live here in January ;)

As far as good fast food do you guys have Moe's?  I just discovered them and am absolutely hooked on their carnitas but all of their food seems pretty good, definitely would be my go-to fast food place.

There are lots of Moe's in the area.   I like it better than Chipotle simply for the variety.   Firehouse Subs is another good chain.

I kind of like Potbelly better.  Locally here in NoVa, there are a couple of Santini's that are terrific and way better than Firehouse.  And I like Firehouse okay, but just not like Santini's.

Santini's is fantastic!  Very much like what I grew up with on Long Island.

If you're anywhere near Arlington and buy your sandwiches anywhere other than The Italian Store, you're doing it all wrong. Their white pizza ain't too shabby either.

Whenever I'm driving home from D.C. it's a struggle to decide between The Italian Store and D.C. Sandwich on Rt. 50 in Falls Church. Usually D.C. Sandwich wins (the Banh Mi place).

Trying a new recipe tonight.  Gonna serve it up with some homemade slaw and grilled corn on the cob.

Beer Braised and Grilled Country Style Ribs

Ingredients:

   2-3 beers of your choice
2 lbs of country style ribs
   2 tbsp BBQ Spice Rub
   1 bottle of BBQ Sauce
   2 tbsp coconut oil

Directions

Coat your ribs in BBQ rub on both sides and set aside. Next, heat a dutch oven on medium high heat and add 2 tbsp coconut oil. Brown your ribs on both sides (this will need to be done in batches), then remove them and set on a plate until all ribs have been browned on both sides. Next, add your ribs back into the dutch oven and add the beer so that the ribs are fully immersed in beer. Bring the dutch oven to boil for 10 minutes, then let the ribs continue to simmer on low for another 45 minutes. Always make sure that the ribs are fully submersed in beer – add more if needed.

Next, prepare your grill for medium direct heat- about 350 degrees. Mix ½ cup of the beer from the dutch oven and combine with ¾ cup of bbq sauce. Place your ribs on the grill and cover in the BBQ sauce glaze. Let them grill until char marks have formed and then flip, about 6-7 minutes per side, basting with more glaze.

Once you’ve achieved nice char marks on both sides, remove the ribs and tent under foil for 10 minutes.

I actually wound up going through a six pack.  5 beers in order to keep the meat submerged (I must have a much larger dutch oven than the recipe's author), and I drank one.  It turned out pretty good, though, and I have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.  :)

Missus got me into Boston Market.    She'd ask, "Do you wanna get something from Boston Market?"    I'd think, "Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeriste how good can the food be made in a place called Boston Market?"

I was OK with it til I walked in and saw a "12" jersey over the cashier's station.
