So, I kind of got caught out in the rain yesterday. I rode up the Mount Vernon trail, across the key bridge, to the Capital Crescent, starting around noon. By the time I got to the stretch of the crescent trail along the potomac, it started raining. I figured I'd try to make the tunnel, but by the time I got there, i was soaked so I said, what the heck, keep moving to stay warm. made it up to Bethesda to refuel and Dunkins, by which time it stopped, so I went back. Again, it picked up right after I went by the tunnel, so I figured I'd go to the whitehurst freeway and wait it out a bit. Soaked some more. I ended up grabbing the metro back from Rosslyn.
This AM, my shoes were still soaked, my gloves were wet, and I go out to my bike and see my light is on even though I had flipped it off. Turns out, the thing had water in it, which I guess was making the circuit.
Oh congrats to the Giro winner Tom Doumolin - how does a Dutch guy getting such a french name? His win is a bit more remarkable because I don't think Sunweb has the sort of armada of support that Movistar or even Bahrain puts together [/spolier]
