If Jeter is going to make moves before taking over officially it should be to steal FP from MASN. Whatever it takes.

FP would be a good guy to sit around, have a beer with and talk ball  ....   but man, he can wear on ya on the tube.

Here is a good take on the idiocy of this. There was no real need since these guys were likely not making baseball decisions and this only burns goodwill.

I didn't see Craig Calcaterra bring $1.2B to the dance.  4 meaningless positions that will be filled with 4 Jeter buddies.  I don't get all the angst...it's really a non-issue...

Beyond that, however, it’s hard to see why you would NOT want guys like Conine, Dawson, Perez and McKeon to represent your club in the community and in the service of impressing prospective season ticket holders.

How many here actually knew these guys were in these positions in the first place?  If Loria himself had crapcanned them, would this even make the news?

If twenty years from now, if say, Clayton Kershaw bought the Nats and the first move he did was fire Ryan Zimmerman from an ambassador role through an intermediary and over the phone, I imagine the squawking in DC would be significant.

There is no successor yet...dead wood needs to be chopped...someone needs to wield the ax.  Again...I have no issue with this at all.

They are dealing with adults...not school kids...

If my boss told me one of my reports had to go...it was up to me to do it.

If my boss already fired me, I'd tell him to pound sand

Wade Davis just blew a save. Brewers and Cubs tied at 2 in the ninth.

Any severance package he's getting is contractual and not based on Jeter's good will. Knowing Loria's cheapness, my is guess his severance package is a discount at the team store

And Davis just blew a second save in the same game. How often does that happen? Brewers win 4-3

It's based upon doing his job. Until he is formally relieved of his duties.

If he's like most baseball execs, he works 24/7, once you're told you're fired time to start killing vacation and sick time. Maybe he could do the firings once the sniffles pass

I’m an idiot. Can’t blow two saves. He was obviously in line for the win...  :hammer: :idiot:

Puig thrown out trying to steal to end the game. Forgets to slide and looks like he hurt his ankle. What a knucklehead.

Aaron Judge sets new MLB record for home runs by a rookie, breaking Mark McGwire's record:

...a 'roid' record erased from the books...good riddance.

Was McGuire juicing that early in his career?  Was it more a mid-90s thing?

Canseco was there the year before.  Hard to say.  Has anyone read Juiced?

I'm skeptical about all the current guys also. Who knows what we will learn ten years from now b

I did, some years ago...suffice it to say that's $23 I'd like back.

Terry Collins is expected to be let go after the season.
