Harper out of lineup today. Says he felt a little sore today.

I'm not goin' to the Park today so it's cool.    :)

I am taking my in laws to the park... So I wont even have the benefit of seeing how Bryce is doing to distract me.  :icon_frown:

I scheduled my in-laws' visit to coincide with the long road trip.  They went home last night. It's gonna be a great night out at the ballpark.

They have never been to a professional baseball game. They came up at this time specifically to see the game. That would not have flown.

ESPN reports that Dusty says that Harper is battling knee soreness, but 'there's no reason to be alarmed'

Hopefully it's just from playing 2 games in a row.

It's concerning.  Post season requires more than playing partial games 2 days in a row.   If he isn't ready, that's fine, I still think we can win, but let's structure the roster to reflect as much and not give top priority to Bryce playing, possibly ineffectually.  The timline seemed very aggressive to me all along.  When push comes to shove, reality sets in.  The Bryce we've seen in the last two games isn't a player who is a big difference maker.

He doesn't want to show the Cubs what he has...  :stir:

Why bother? Maddon is just going to walk him to clog up the basepaths

ESPN reports Harper won’t play a full game until the NLDS.

How would ESPN (and nobody else) know that?

But it makes sense. I didn't expect him to play a full game until then anyway. This isn't breaking news. He should play 6-7 innings tonight and tomorrow and then get 2 PA's on Sunday and take a curtain call. Then he has a few days of rest.

I'd go 6-7 tonight, 1-2 AB tomorrow, and full game Sunday.  (But what do I know.)

Bryce struck out and hit at'em balls tonight.    We want him to do well in the playoff but right now, it's good to see him in the line up.

Pay him. Offer him minority ownership. Do what you gotta do.

Doubtful he'll play right field for the Yankees after that homer-saving catch Judge just made...

I'll never understand some fans not wanting to pay this guy?
