I guess his shoulder is fine. While  hex bar is easier on the back, he's still rounding the crap out of that

proper form > weight

I was ready to call you full of crap but wow, you're right. That's going to hurt a freakton if he keeps doing that. I'm not sure how it doesn't hurt him now, to be honest.

The hex bar is forgiving and he is young.

I want to know who that guys is that saw that first lift and said good. Should have been stopped right there as too much weight.

I'll remember that instagram post when he hits the DL with a herniated disk.

Hasnt his injury history been knees and upper back or shoulder?

MLBTR:

Quote
The Nationals have avoided arbitration with right fielder and 2015 NL MVP Bryce Harper, tweets FanRag’s Jon Heyman. ESPN’s Buster Olney reports that Harper will receive a hefty $13.625MM salary — a massive raise over his $5MM salary from the 2016 season. Harper’s raise shattered the $9.3MM projection of MLBTR contributor Matt Swartz and stands out as the largest raise ever given to a position player that is entering his third year of arbitration eligibility. Harper will be arb-eligible once more next winter and is a free agent following the 2018 season.

Overpaying him based on his 2016 performance. Hope he appreciates that.

On the open market, if he was a free agent, his 2016 was worth about $25M.

Shame that Tanner doesn't get anything even approaching his FMV...

That's a tough case to make. What would you base that on OPS?  WAR?    OPS, he was #58.  WAR he was barely in the top 200.

Good faith on the Nats part, maybe. IMO, there's no way Bryce takes anything less than the largest offer out there when he becomes a FA.

Good faith gesture?

Have you seen the contracts being handed out the last few years?

Absolutely on the Nats' part.    I don't think it means crap to Harper and Boras.

But they avoided arbitration. We have no idea what he'd have gotten in arbitration but I'll bet he wouldn't have set the bar that high, or he'd have lost.
