Last night on AXS they had a Bad Company concert from last September.  Rodgers still sounds great, but it was weird to see the band without Mick Ralphs.  It doesn't really seem like Bad Company anymore.

Damn, I wanted to see that.    Foreigner was part of the evening as well.

Bad Company is being shown again on 5/10 at 8 PM and 5/11 at noon.  You should be able to find their show from a few years ago at the Hard Rock Cafe in FL that was much better.  I don't see the Foreigner show being replayed.  The only original left in that band is Mick Jones, but the new lead singer sounds a lot like Lou Gramm.

There are a few other good shows coming up:
- Styx on 5/11 at 1
- REO Speedwagon on 5/11 at 2PM

Also, the Sunday night concerts from Red Rocks returns this coming Sunday with Blues Traveler, Buddy Guy, Counting Crows, Dave Matthews, Cheap Trick, and Chicago/REO Speedwagon

---

update: Lou Gramm and a few other of the original members of Foreigner are joining the band's 40th anniversary tour this year.  http://wror.com/2017/01/10/lou-gramm-confirms-hell-perform-select-foreigner-tour-dates/

Midnight Oil playing the Filmore in Silver Spring tonight, sold out.

 :metal:

I'd love to see a 20 minute "Blue Sky Mine" extended jam.  Not many songs that not only kick ass but also have an accounting reference in them.

The candy store paupers lie to the share holders
They're crossing their fingers they pay the truth makers
The balance sheet is breaking up the sky

Discussion of financial difficulties at the mine

We have Trumps balance sheet.
But not his income statement.

How's that for some catchy lyrics.

Not as catchy as:. Na na na nana na na, na na na, hey Jude...

...or na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye.

they rocked it last night. No extended "Blue Sky Mine" jam, just regular length,  but "Forgotten Years" and "The Dead Heart" were particularly cathartic.  Crazy to think of how long that band has been together, or that their lead singer had about a decade in politics in between tours.

Social Distortion will be at the Fillmore on August 13. Tickets go on sale Friday but there is a citicard presale that started today.  Password is the first 6 digits of your citi credit/debit card.  Social Distortion always puts on a hell of a show and they haven't been on the east coast in ages.

Wasn't in town for the original Bullets Fever. Has only taken 40 years for the town to get excited about the team again.

I remember the original.    Those were solid pro basketball days in DC.   IMHO, the town (and suburbs) has changed a lot since that time.    In the day, basketball was much bigger than hockey (and no baseball).    The area is much more spread out.     Hell out here in E. Loudoun was a day trip from the inner suburbs and DC.      Between the pros and the local college scene   ....  man those were the good old days in b'ball.
