I wasn't a fan of J. Geils but I do remember WHFS playin' "Love Stinks" at the beginning of a set on Valentine's Day.    In fact, the whole set took on that attitude.     :)

I saw J. at the Barns playing acoustic back up for I forget who . . . (hey, I did not get the tickets).

They were a great band before they had Centerfold and Love Stinks, which made them their money.

yea I was coming to post the same sentiment, I was young but I remember J. Geils being kind of an edgy band before the pop stuff, but the pop songs were great little numbers.
Also even though I totally knew better when I saw J. Geils had passed away I pictured Peter Wolf in my head, took me so long when I was young to realize the lead singer was not J. Geils.

Wolf was one of the original DJs on WBCN before he went full-time with the band.  If you remember the 70s TV show, "White Shadow," the basketball team warmed up with "I do."

I used to be more of Geils fan than an Aerosmith fan.

Looked it up and saw them in 77. Before their pop phase. Didn't know much about them but college friends did. The song I remember is nothin but a house party.

The Show Stoppers   :old:    Was DJ'ing in college at the time.     Always threw it into a set at the club I DJ'ed at in the late 80s as well.    Great dancin' tune.

BTW   The Show Stoppers were a Philly group.    :)       Maybe J. Geils heard the song when he went to Philly from Boston to do a show.     ;)

David Letterman's mom passed away at 95.  Watching him try to guess what pies she'd baked for Thanksgiving became part of my Thanksgiving ritual for years. I also loved when he sent her to the Olympics, she was great on his show.

Charlie Murphy, eddie's brother who gained fame on the chapelle show.  Reunited with Rick James.  Just 57. :(

Sad day for football.

I was surprised when I read your post.    Of course, I remember Art SR as well.    Another generation is gone from the Rooney family within the Steelers' ownership.

I'm a decent man from time to time. Gotta respect when it's due, especially when someone passes. Respect to the Rooney family. The "rivalry" wouldn't have been the same without his doing, and the game would've been much worse off without him. Cheers

I wasn't surprised that you posted it.    I was surprised by the news.    There's always time to kick each other's asses on the gridiron.

So totally stunned to hear this when I woke up, I mean he just beat double murder charges and was appealing his initial conviction, why after 4 years in jail and after winning his trial last week would he all of a sudden lose hope?  Seems a tad fishy.

did you notice how he was in among the general population.  Still, it was in his cell. I'm guessing they had Hannibal Lechler (Sean's cousin) in the cell next to him talking to him overnight.

Stir Crazy: starring Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor
Both got out of this movie jail, but they're both now dead too.

Some other claims are being made he was killed

Maybe he just realized finally what a worthless piece of crap he was. Feel sorry for the kid as the fiancé will raise him to think dad was a great guy.
