Don't know if I'd go that far.  He didn't lose the tools, just his mechanics.  If he can get back to the mechanics that made him a top prospect and learn to repeat them, he can still be a top of the rotation guy.  Just looking like a longer term project than most would have guessed.

Finally tuned into a Mariners game when Espinosa was playing and he immediately roped a double. Right handed.

I still think he could potentially save his career by batting right handed.  It won't immediately yield results but his bat just doesn't play at the major league level as a switch hitter and he's always been a MUCH better hitter right handed so he may as well try for longer than one Spring Training.

The stats I saw don't seem to support that for his time in the Big Leagues.  He's been god-awful from both sides of the plate.

His right side has regressed significantly in the last two years but he put together several years of hitting close to .300 from that side of the plate.  I attribute the regression to lack of confidence and repetition since teams generally turn him around to the left side whenever they can.

I don't think anyone's saying he's a good player.  All I'm saying is I don't see him having a chance in hell of making it in the majors if he doesn't ditch batting from the left side entirely.  I mean we're talking about someone who is barely sticking in the majors here.  No one is calling him the next Mike Trout.

I think it's because he did put up some decent years and it's a bit of a mystery as to why he was never able to put it all together.  When he first got to The Show, a lot of us thought he was a better version of Ian Desmond who was going to hit his prime faster.  It just never materialized.
