Wisconsin as a #8 doesn't bode well for other Big Ten teams.

When did the memo go out that you have to grab your crotch when the camera comes on?

Minnesota as a 5 was higher than I expected, but to top out with Purdue at a 4 is down from most years. Don't see Maryland being higher than that.

Dangerous matchup for the Zags. SDSU's got one of the the best scorers in country and have a bunch of their team back from a team that was a 12 last year.

When anyone starts with "the process", everything that follows is pure mercury free bullcrap.

The committee just makes the criteria up from year to year. If it was clear it would be easier for the forecasters to pick the bubble teams and seeds.

"Scrubbing" seems to be a good word to hide behind as well.

Initial bracket: I got UCLA, Arizona, Baylor, Louisville Final 4 with UCLA beating Arizona. Of course last year I had Michigan State winning it all and they lost in round 1. My bracket will be busted by Saturday.

Terps should be happy with 6 after the way they finished this year.  Still can't believe they choked away that game to Nebraska though....

That's as good as any selection. Seems there are about 15 teams with a decent shot at the final four and probably could be even a surprise from outside that group. Wide open as they say.

I make out several brackets trying to stay in the game longer.    :)

That 6 seed for Maryland (especially against Xavier) is a damn blessing.

Anybody ever win a Final Four bracket  ...  I won $300 in '87 on Keith Smart's shot.

(Probably a $10 entry fee at work)

I won the year Georgetown won. Haven't come close since. Think I won a couple hundred bucks.

I've entered three "bracket pools".    For the champs, I've chosen Gonzaga, UNC and  Villanova.    I have Kansas as runner up in two of those pools.     After that, I have 2 tiers of interest in watching.   One is teams I haven't seen and am interested in to include UCLA, Wichita ST, Gonzaga and Villanova.     Last tier is the local teams I have watched and "cheer" for but don't think they have a chance  ...  Maryland, VCU, West Virginia and UVA.      I told my buddy I'd watch Mount St. Marys.     I think he went there for a semester in the 60s.      The rest of the tourney is icing on the cake.

Hey. What about Virginia Tech in your local schools?

I always root against Princeton. I blame Dad.

Not sure who I will pick?

I'm not now nor have I ever been a Tech fan in any sport.    :couch:     I like Princeton because of Bill Bradley.     :old:      You better get on the Bearcat bandwagon (or XU).     :)

Which lower seeds are you guys putting into the sweet 16? Leaning towards Middle Tenn right now, but a potential Butler match-up would be tough.

I took Butler over MTS in one of my pools.    I have FGCU to the Sweet 16 in one.    I have VCU in one pool to the Elite Eight but that's a heart pick.    The lowest seed I think has any sort of chance is Michigan State   ...   totally based on Izzo.

I didn't take you for the snooty type who would support UVA over Tech. 😏

Cincy has a good chance to do some damage. The news here over weekend focused mostly on Northern KY. They are right across the river. Will have to take in a game there next year since the arena is supposed to be nice. They play KY so they won't be in it for long.

I haven't seen them. But many of the experts are behind them.
