NCAA Basketball 2016-17
« Topic Start: December 21, 2016, 09:29:11 AM »
Didn't see an updated version of this topic.    Figured Kentucky at Louisville (7 PM ESPN) and the start of league play next week is a good place to start.

(If mods wanna go with the old thread, delete this one.)

The North Carolina/Kentucky game from last weekend was as good a game as I've seen in a long time.

I saw the last 5 or so minutes.    One of the reasons I wanna see the game tonight is Monk from Kentucky.

KY doesn't have to worry about the 10 second rule.   :)

He has happy feet.
Funny to see Coach K in the presser already defending against what he is probably not going to do as punishment.

The ACC needs to address it.    Bilas even thinks that's the way to go.    I'm not a Krzyzewski fan.

I am sure he will learn his lesson quickly Coach K.  :hysterical:

The kids reaction on the bench looked like a five year old. He has some major emotional issues. He kind of reminds me of Johnny football.

From the reply I saw, it doesn't surprise me if he didn't even realize he was tripping.  But it was clear - he did trip the other team's player.

This. Thought it was hilarious. Coach K is the hoss though, and did what needed to be done.

He will be rehabilitated just in time for the next tough game.

He did it twice last year so no one will believe it was an accident. Maybe he is one of the Shakers?

Oh, no doubt, but for something that petty (tripping), it's nice to just see the coach sit the kid down. Guys are still playing after doing much worse.

He should have done it last year, the first two times it happened.

Yeah, I'm not in the Krzyzewski "did the right thing" camp either.    He did what he had to do to retain credibility.    I ain't no doctor but I've seen similar "outbursts/meltdowns" by young men in life.    I hope Duke gets him the help he may need.

Right.  Maybe, just maybe, you give him one freebie.  After the second one though you are beginning to see an issue.  Most players, nearly all, go their entire careers without making an intentional trip of another player.  Too bad the Elon player wasn't able to get close enough to give him a pop on that smarmy chin.

 :old:
Like the time Lee Raker elbowed Earnest Graham in the mouth (no call), down at the other end of the court Raker set the Cole Field House record for farthest butt slide following being punched in the chin.

Huskers and Terps on Sunday. Anyone gonna be there? I'm guessing the Xfininty Center won't be at it's peak considering everyone will still be hungover from New Years Eve revelry. Hoping NU builds off their performance at Indiana the other day.

Should be an interesting game, more interesting if either of the Terps centers are able to play.  That game against Illinois was a complete surprise. It looked like a different team, two point guards, easy penetration, points in the paint.  They toyed with a fairly big, physical team.

Could be interesting.

Eh, Illinois isn't that great of a team. And conference play flips switches for some teams. NU's been good defensively all year and have found some offense recently. I think this should be an entertaining game.

I wonder if Coach K will lift Grayson Allen's suspension at half time. He looks contrite to me on the bench.
