Just think if they hadn't blown a 12 point lead with six minutes to go at home.

They're good to very-good, not elite. I'm not making that claim. They should be ranked in the teens.

I just think that, at some point, you should have the cred to not be a dog to an un-ranked team on the road.  When you haven't lost on the road.

How are they ranked down around #17 (and last week were #22)?  Are their losses that bad?  One was to an Izzo team.  I don't care what he has this year and what is their record, Michigan State is Michigan State.  Do they not have a quality win?  It's the darn B1G.  It's not like rolling it up in a play-in league.

Low teens probably but I agree, they've won a lot of squeakers and at some point having to rally every game will bite you in the ass.

2IPAs is happy.  VCU beat crosstown rival Richmond last night, which is an example of using the NCAA as a venue to battle out a clash of cultures.

Shut up.

:D

But seriously, they have to stop having these games where they go six or seven minutes without scoring a field goal.

Beat the spread!!

Didn't see the game. They will be in the mix come March. Down year for the Big Ten and their no conference signature wins: Georgetown, Kansas State and Ok State are all having down years.

Brilliant coaching move by VCU Coach Bill Wade - with 0.4 seconds left in the game and down by 1 point, VCU has the ball and has to throw the ball the length of the court to try to score.  Opponent GW sets up a very tall man to try to block the inbounds throw.

VCU stets up a 2nd player on the baseline that the GW person runs over as he is following the VCU player along the baseline trying to throw in the ball.  GW is called for a foul and VCU sinks 2 free throws to win the game.

Terps look strong against Northwestern, who was a 3.5 point favorite at home.  14 minutes left, terps up by 18.

Got a little closer there at the end. It's really disappointing that the Terps can't win by 20 on the road every night.

C'mon Gburgh, they were 3 point dogs on the road!  At one point they were 9/10 from the field in the second half.  Cooled off obviously but heck, that's a 3 freshman lineup they run half the time.  They're getting pretty good.  6 seed at the moment, but upside potential.

Love me some terps basketball. Ready to watch the game on DVR. Damn Nats ticket drafts took up my whole evening.

Anytime you can put a program like Northwestern and its inferior j-school in its place, it's a good day.

Watched quite a bit of the MD game last night.     Haven't watched much NCAA ball as of yet.    I knew Melo would be Melo but I really like what I see from Hureter.

Huerter is a great player already. Very smart, has tools for offense and defense, good shot. He will be a great one. This whole class is excellent.

He wasn't even in Draft Express's 2-round mock. If he shoots well down the stretch, have to think he's gone. A great postseason would put him in the NBA draft for sure. But if he struggles shooting and turning the ball over? It's possible he could decide that being a 4-year legend/one of the best players in MD bball history (Trimble will be among names like Williams, Dixon, Bias, McMillen) is better than playing in Europe.

I think he bolts regardless. He's 22, I think, and he may want to start his earnings clock.

His stock has really fallen since his first year.

Yeah, last season was a killer especially. I think the first year just really was a fluke - it kind of all came together. He got a lot of calls he doesn't get anymore, so the free throw scoring is down. But his shot has just never returned to that freshman year level, and he hasn't gotten any better at taking care of the ball.

Love him, but his flaws at the next level are real and that makes me sad. He could be a Greivis-like fourth year guy who really takes his game to the next level and then makes a decent NBA career, but that's really a stretch.
