Why isn't Rizzo in on Sergio Romo?

Why isn't Rizzo in on Sergio Romo?

Because Romo is no better than Ollie Perez?

We don't need to be in on every "meh" pitcher just because they're out there. Same thing as those who wanted  Rizzo to chase Jay Bruce last year. Meh.

Especially someone who tried to start conflict with Bryce Harper at the start of last season:

Who cares about Bryce, he is always complaining or getting into it with someone. Calling out the fans for leaving early because they have jobs...disgusting.

Plus, didn't stop Rizzo from getting Papeldouche. He is the best option available, we are probably the mystery team interested but every single FA has passed us up this offseason, I expect him to sign with the Dodgers.

If we ruled out acquiring every player that doesn't like Bryce, we would have slim pickins remaining.

Except Romo has outperformed him in almost every statistical category outside of K/9 the last two years.

Romo > Perez, Gott, and all the other crappy pitchers that will be invited to camp. He could close for the first few months and not force the Nats to bump everyone up a spot.

I have hope for Gott, but I want to see him kick the door down and not be given a free pass onto the 25 man.

Slim Pickens died in 1983, so he's not available.

Is this post from a year ago?  I thought it turned out that Gott sucked?

We'll see if Gott sucks or not this year.

The thing I'm most concerned about is what happens if the bullpen sucks. It seems thin and not that talented to me. We are going to need more innings than many of these guys have ever thrown.

I just hope we're ready to shove every minor league starter into the major league bullpen if things go awry. I will be SOOOOOOO pissed if we refused to spend money on the bullpen in the offseason and our plan is to deal Robles or Soto to fill holes. GMAFB.

He was fine in his short stint up here last year and was solid in his rookie year in Anaheim. He gott hurt in Syracuse. Needs to cut down the walks.

I have to assume they want him as a batting practice pitcher.

I'm assuming that's Arlo and not Woody.

Romo to Dodgers. Don't fret, we landed BP pitcher Jeremy Guthrie.

Is Latos back with the Nats?  Or with anyone? I heard on the radio out here the other day that Bronson Arroyo is close to reaching a minor league deal with the Reds.  No risk deals are fine with me.

It must be a slow offseason if people want to see the Nats sign Sergio Romo and his 86 mph fastball.

I know he is not a closer. I dont know why I see people clamoring for him. he is basically a right specialist at this point. Lefties crush him.
