He's got his own personal elevator and you're calling him dumb.

We had one for around 18 years before we had to put him down.  He was the smartest cat I've ever owned.  He played fetch and liked to be chased around the house.  He'd even chase after you if you ran away.

One of our current two is also a black cat and is the most affectionate, gentlest cat I've ever owned, but he's dumb as a box of rocks.  He'll climb on a counter stool to watch you put food in his bowl.  But when you put it on the floor for him, he sits on the stool looking lost.  Sometimes he figures it out, sometimes I have to carry him to his food.

I did a Curly W again this year but carved it yesterday and by today parts of the  were sagging, not unlike our recent playoff performances.  Had to use a toothpick to prop it up.  I suspect the one you show above has a couple of very frail connectors that might also fail to age well.

I'm never getting candy again. I bought candy and hardly any kids showed up. I noticed a lot of homes in my neighborhood had their lights off. I might as well start ding the same in the future because I'm stuck with a lot of candy.

We had 16 kids total which is one of our lowest totals ever.  Monday just seems a downer for festive trick or treating.

Back when we lived in Alexandria and had little kids all over the neighborhood it was common for the adults to give out/get a beer or mini-bottles, all the better to ward off the chill of the evening.   

In addition to my wife's purchase of more standard candies I bought a box of Mary Janes from the Germantown Amish market, told the kids that I wanted their reviews of this obscure varietal.

Don't see a lot of Junior Mints or Heath bars on the shelves but definitely not obscure.  Suggestions?

I see that Pepto-Bismol is "wintergreen" flavor, but also that teaberry is another common name for the American wintergreen plant.    Learn something every day.

I have eaten wild teaberries before, but while being advised and can't recommend one start chewing similar berries in hopes of finding the right one.  It's a very pleasant, albeit short-lived flavor.

We had close to 50 kids (which is down from recent years).    I discovered why I never drank wine that costs more than a buck fifty a quart.    Neighbors shared some "blanc" crap with me and I had heart burn all night.    I'll never forsake rum again.

Oh man, I used to live a block away from the old NECCO plant in Cambridge (when it was still making candy, before it became million dollar condos)...in the summer you had to run the gauntlet to get past the swarms of yellowjackets that were attracted by the various spills of sugary syrup.

Not one trick or treater, guess I'll eat 4 bags of chocolate all by myself.  Dammit 

Rode through Mt Pleasant on my bike on the way home, and it's a madhouse.  There are large crowds of trick or treaters headed that way from every direction.  Reminded me of The Walking Dead 

One method is to take your candy out into the street, and then give it to the trick-or-treaters walking around.

I was the only one there with a candy-filled pumpkin-thingy. I gave Dum-Dum pops to the zombie kids waiting for the Zombie Walk to start. Once the zombie parade reached the Downtown Silver Spring entertainment center, I was surrounded and mobbed by kids seeking Dum-Dum pops.
