Chris Capuano (4-0, 2.90 ERA) is expected to start for Milwaukee. The left-hander's bid to win a fifth straight start was cut short when left Monday's 4-0 win over St. Louis after three innings with a bruised right calf from a batted ball.

"It got him pretty flush and it started to stiffen up on him," Brewers manager Ned Yost said. "I didn't see any sense in trying to push that whatsoever."

Rookie Matt Chico (2-3, 6.59) will try to keep Washington from matching its longest losing streak this year, set April 5-11. The left-hander, making his first appearance against Milwaukee, is coming off the shortest outing of his career in which he lasted just 3 2-3 innings of a 7-3 loss to San Diego on Wednesday.

"Right now, I'm in the aiming stage. I'm trying to throw the strikes instead of just letting it go and trusting my stuff," said Chico, who allowed five runs, four hits and four walks.

Ugh.. The team with the Best record in baseball VS the team with the Worst record in baseball.  This series could be very ugly.   Hopefully Guzman and Nook give the team a desperately needed spark.

edit:
Wow, interesting stat from the Nats pre-game:
Chico's batting average against during each inning
1st: .227
2nd: .250
3rd: .273
4th: .333
5th: .500
6th: .667

It is good to see a change in the lineup though. It won't take much for Logan to be more productive than whatever we had been getting out of our left fielders this season.

Zimm has no plate discipline this year. He swings at way too many pitches out of the strike zone.

Nice 1-2-3 for Chico.  He usually starts well, it's the middle innings when he starts to unravel.

Ah, good ole Brian striking out helplessly.

Honestly, I'd rather have Flores back there.

Do you think we even have a chance of scoring a run today?

We barely scored a run vs a guy with 12+ ERA in AAA.
No chance we get more than 2 runs vs Capuano.
