ESPN coverage of the World Cup...It's like sportscasters revel in reminding us that the Pred's got Forsberg from us for Marty freaking Erat...  :asplode:

Didn't Forsberg used to be a Caps prospect?

How does this work?     USA played Canada yesterday  ....  so who is this Team North America?

23 and younger players that were not placed on the US or Canada Teams.

The best 3 on 3 OT I have ever seen...it was spectacular...

Can they still be NHL'ers?    I think they interviewed a player between periods who played in the NHL.

It was pretty funny how the announcers mentioned the trade as soon as he scored. I wonder how many years that will go on.

I didn't see third period or OT. Who won?

North America 4-3.  If you can catch a replay of the OT...do it...it will be well worth the 4 minutes or so you spend on it.

Yes...
I think Conor McDavid will be the best player in hockey in a year or two. Wondered about the hype but he is awfully good.

I think the Forsberg thing is moot now. We couldn't have afforded him and gotten oshie and Williams.  Not sure he is a clear upgrade over either of them.  Maybe you could have gotten rid of mojo to free up money for him. Still think forsberg makes a mil or two more than him.  Point is, you'd have to get rid of a pricey player to fit forsberg on the team now

Besides, right now we very auspiciously have Tre Kronor.  No room for another Swede.

You'd hopefully have Forsberg locked up for more than one year, unlike Oshie and Williams.  I like Williams, but 2016-2017 is likely his last rodeo.  Mojo doesn't hold a candle to Forsberg.

Hope we can keep Oshie, but he will not be cheap.  I also hope GMGM loses his mind one more time, and Las Vegas picks Mojo in the expansion draft.

Forsberg costs 6 million.  Gonna be hard to fit a number of that size on the caps while ovie,  backstrom, holtby, niskanen, and orpik are here.  And then you gotta pay kuzy.
