Gloating rights are rescinded after 40 years.
Yea. I know. Only have those six Cup finals appearances since then. And I lost track of the Conference finals.

 ;)

Is this the closest the Caps will get to a Cup?

Gotta admit...that was funny...  ;)

Honestly...I think the door may have closed last year.  I'm not seeing the same level of intensity and execution out of them so far.  Hope I'm wrong, but we clearly didn't improve when so may other teams have...

Do you think the players have checked out or "realize" they've maxed out?

I dunno, mitlen...I just see the effort on the ice and it's pretty meh.  Toronto literally ran them out of the building...and I know it was a back to back, but man, it was ugly.  That wasn't the first stinker they've thrown up either.

When Tom Wilson is an "important" part of your lineup...I think you have issues.

I love Trotz, but I'm beginning to wonder if he is the right guy for this bunch of players.

I remember our comments over the last week about performance.    I was hopin' the hype over the Pens' game made the boys a little flat.    We'll see what they bring tomorrow.

As long as they make the playoffs they have a chance. The intensity last year didn't make a difference.

This is a great story.

Didn't even know Temple had a hockey team.

Story I heard was he was playing Club Hockey while at Temple...

Great story nonetheless...

I try not to get too excited. The Eagles already teased me with a good start this season. The goaltending seems to have picked up. Hextall is a solid GM has done a good job getting them back in the mix after Holmgren left a hot mess.

is it still Rene Rancourt?  He's been doing it for about 40 years.

Wiki says he sang the national anthem for game 6 of the 1975 world series when Kate Smith backed out. That was a big back.  Started with the Bruins in 1976.  Rancourt used to do social events like bar mitzvahs and weddings, too.   He says he often got asked to sign Oh, Canada at these events.

They play the Wild tomorrow who have won 12 in a row. Not surprising since Boudreau coaches the Wild. Regular season success is his calling card.
