when you drop your bus token into the fare box, and you get to a point where you want to switch buses, you ask for a transfer from the bus driver and he gives you a piece of paper.  Then, when you catch the next bus, you give the next driver the piece of paper and you get to ride for free, instead of having to put in another token or a quarter, whatever it costs for the bus these days.

You offer to buy the rights to a player. Then negotiate a new deal. Free agents are much more rare, since clubs would sell off a player before losing them to FA. The loan system is pretty straightforward

It's just another example of those socialists in Europe having vastly more capitalist sports leagues than the US. Why draft and trade players when you can just straight buy and sell? Or maybe it's not capitalism, just using money to replace the barter system as intended

Ha. It is funny. Balance of power is really something when there's multiple competitive leagues, you know? MLB/NFL have it locked down

Impressive to be getting playing time on a stacked roster. Good players/big names like Goetze, Kagawa, Schurrle are struggling for time there. I think Dortmund sometimes has three teenagers out there.

DC United owners own Swansea and inter Milan.  They could have paid for a new United stadium with an accounting error.  Couldn't they at least get us a drogba or something

We did have Johann Cruyff back in the day.  Since then, big mega stars like, oh, I don't know...Honduran league sparkles like Emilio and Argentine has-beens like Gallardo.
