The European leagues are gettin' ready to start a new season.   The Olympics are comin'.     It's a good time to start a fresh soccer thread.

Watched some of that arsenal/mls game last night. I liked that zelalem kid. Hopefully he gets on a decent team that is on tv regularly. Confident on the ball made some nice passes. Could be a decent number of Americans to watch in Europe this year. Pulisic, zelalem, and green. Green didn't do much the other night. He was playing striker and didn't get fed much.

I love how post-Fergie Man U has become a coach-destroying machine.  I wonder how long until the Mourinho immolation.

When does the Premiere League start?  Looking forward to Leicester City defending their title.

I wondered what had happened to Green and why he wasn't on the USA team this summer?

He still appears to be highly regarded at bayern, which surprised me.

I wonder if Aron Jóhannsson regrets not playing for Iceland.

They need to have another WC qualifier at RFK.  That USA/Costa Rica game in '09 was intense.

I see he has a hat trick in the first half today. That's not too shabby.

Looks like green is staying at bayern if I read today's soccer insider correctly. Hopefully he gets some decent playing time. He's probably the third striker at best.

Bundesliga is where it's at from a US standpoint. They need to expand their tv coverage. Wood, Pulisic, Green, Johanson...might see some Americans score goals.

Who is left as a starting player in the EPL with Howard to MLS and Guzan on a relegated team?  Yedlin and Cameron are the only ones who come to mind.

Maybe Zelalem will get some starts.
