Dude throws an amazing game, with the only run coming when Stanton gets ahold of one, and gets no run support. You know, no biggie, just another 7 innings one run performance.Ace
Tanner's a bulldog. I feel like he's going to be the guy that wins the big Game 7 in October.
In relief? Because we know Max is gonna get that start.
Given off days figure scherzer in 1 & 4 and Roark in 2 & 5 in the nlds, with gio in 3.
Scherzer game 1, Roark game 2, Ross game 3 to close it out. Strasburg, game 1, NLCS.
Two wins in his last eight starts. Not an ace
BUMPIf I was Tanner Roark, I would demand a trade. This guy has been nothing but disrespected come playoff time when we keep sending out the wilting flower, Gio Gonzalez.
Gio's hot start to the season actually hurt us in the worst possible way. Management appears totally incapable of realizing when someone is playing better than someone else. Roark would have started, we're probably in the NLCS right now.
Iirc, Roark was pretty awful his last few starts.
Can we stop pretending that not using Roark or starting him is the reason we lost?
As soon as we stop pretending that Gio belongs on a post-season roster.
Is Gio's vested contract for next year a player option? If it is, then you may see him opt out. Not much help for Tanner, though, as they would bring in a lefty represented by Boras who will be the #3.
I thought it was a team option that vested into a guaranteed deal. A vesting player option doesn't really make much sense, does it?
Gio's 2018 contract vested once he went over 180 innings in 2017, we've got him at $12 million for 2018.
