Joey Chestnut regained his title with 70 hot dogs eaten in 10 minutes, way ahead of 2015 champion Matt Stonie's 53.  Chestnut set a World Record on Saturday June 25, 2016 at a Nathan's qualifying hot dog eating contest in Washington DC, where he ate 73.5 dogs.

In the July 4th women’s competition, Miki Sudo, of Las Vegas, took home a first-place prize with 38.5 dogs. Ms. Sudo said her only challenge was having to dunk her hot dog buns in a different flavor of Crystal Light than she’s used to.
