ASB call-up?  .375 / .429 / .547 through 16 games at AA.  .410 (16-39) over his last 10 games.

I predict a midseason callup next year unless Murphy keeps struggling and they break glass in case of emergency with Kieboom. I think they roll into next season with Difo as the starter and they signed a utility infielder to back him up. One injury or a slump and here comes Kieboom.

If this kid keeps it up, how about the young talent in the Nats lineup. Robles, Soto, and Kieboom? Turner is only 25. That is sick.

That'll do then.

I don't want to rush Kieboom since eventually their luck with teenage hitters is going to slow down. Harper, Robles, and especially Soto have all held their own when called up young.

While this is true - and I'm mindfacting here - I think we're seeing more teams call up younger players because players are more developed at a younger age now (not all, just some high-end talent). Harper was his own case, but Robles & Soto seemed really advanced for their ages in terms of plate discipline and approach. I think that's the biggest factor.

On the bright side of a weird trade deadline day, Carter Kieboom up to #14 in the Fangraphs midseason BOARD update. :fire:

Achilles rupture and next year.

Is that likely?

Achilles are hard and Howie is not young. But a year rehab isn’t unreasonable.

Big night. 4 for 5. Two home runs. And a triple and double. Just missed the cycle.

I would absolutely consider trading him. He's well regarded enough now to bring back considerable pieces, but still young enough that it's not a sure thing how he will turn out.

The extra home run in place of the single makes it a motorcycle.

I would like to think there are safeguards against Rizzo making a trade if he was actively having a stroke...
