interesting stat line for Romero:
2.2 innings, 6K, 1BB, 3 hits, 1HR, 1 Earned run
3+ HR/9.  :panic: but .500 BABIP.  Nice near 20 k/9.  Gonna guess some of those numbers are unsustainable. Small sample size.  ;)

The ks after such a long layoff is impressive, especially with only 1 walk.  Very encouraging

Not going to get too excited about a 22 year old striking out 18-20 olds in Hagerstown.  Let's see how he does at the next level.  And some people thought he would be in the big leagues last fall.   :hysterical:

I wonder if its dawned on him yet that if he hadn't been a freaktard, he'd probably be in the major leagues right now

That could be a sobering and motivating a-ha moment.  I hope he really had it

First two outings were awful but he threw 4 with 0ER, 6Ks and 2 walks in his last appearance.

Adam McInturff in Twitter about last night.
Quote
LHP Seth Romero 91-94 all night w/ late hop, think he is building back arm-str and the t96-97 will be back. SL 82-84 and CH 83-86 are advanced, throws strikes w/ deceptive delivery. Finishes this AB with his signature slider, out pitch to both RHH/LHH.

I was at last night’s game. Romero’s fastball was blazing and most batters just couldn’t catch up to it. Very impressive to see that at this level. His offspeed stuff was less impressive as he had difficulties with location.  He went deep in the count several times, walked three, and uncorked a wild pitch. He also seemed to run out of gas as the night went on, as he was most dominant  in the first couple of innings and tailed off after that. Of course it was a beastly hot night, but I suspect that the enforced time off affected his conditioning.

His fastball is great, but as Crash Davis said, “In the Show, everyone can hit a fastball.”. Based on what I saw last night, he needs to work on locating his offspeed stuff.
