If you're willing to mess with the zone, just standardize it and automate it

My question... why even bother to make a revision in the strike zone parameters when the current one isn't really observed anyhow? I think we all regularly see strikes called well below a given player's knee... and who knows where the high strike's limits are, I mean from ump to ump that almost always varies... and what's more, an ump's zone doesn't seem to change that much between the mini players like Altuve and the bean poles like Werth...

So the whole discussion, to me anyway, is kinda pointless until/unless they get serious about observing the rule they make.

I approve the strike zone change - strike zone's gotten too big, hitters need a boost - but I love the intentional walk because of moments like this:

i'm fine with the proposed DH rule, but I imagine shrinking the strike zone will lead to more walks.

I would think initially it would lead to many more walks but then maybe more hits as the pitchers have to throw strikes?

The current strike zone is not really enforced. No strikes above the waist but pitchers are given strikes below the knees. And who knows what they will call when a pitch is near the edge of the plate.

You mean raising the strike zone BACK to above the knee cap?

Shrinking the strike zone isn't going to speed up pace of play.
