Velocity looked fine. Last time I saw him pitch at Nats Park, he was out about a hour/hour and a half or so long tossing and stretching. Today, he got out there about 30 mins before first pitch and tossed a little bit and did some BP work. Just seemed odd to me.

Stadium gun overestimates, always. The broadcast had him sitting 93-94 and topping out at 95

Oh, no doubt. They only had Gray at 94-96 (I don't recall if I saw a 97), and I know he throws harder than that.

He's in a bit of a rough patch. I'm confident he'll get out of it. Just sucks his ERA has blown up so much. Almost an entire run after three horrific starts.

Looks like he's not getting batters to swing at it. I read an article that speculates perhaps he is tipping his pitches. Maybe they are on to something.

I just finished Smithians post on another thread on most teams using 11 starters per season. Up until today I believe we only used 8. Lopez =4, Giolito =3 and Petit=1. I was thinking that perhaps we needed to give Stras and Scherzer a missed start. This is probably the best way to do it.
