Also I'm going to freaking freak if I see Dusty put MAT and his big FAS forehead in the lineup again tomorrow. He kills every inning he touches like Lenny and rabbits.

Roark was cruising through 7. I think he was pulled at the perfect time. You get 6 runs and are up 2 going into the 9th you expect to win. But that's baseball.

The problem is that when he stops cruising, he's going to stop hard and he did.  He got one out and there was a baserunner on who scored.  Trusting a pitcher like Roark, who has been very good but doesn't have great stuff, to pitch in the 8th inning is very unwise, unless the team has a much bigger lead.

The delay in posting last night's :w: until this MORNING is BAD BAD luck!  WNFF Moderator failure guaranteed a loss for tonight.

Roark got the first batter he faced in the inning out. Next guy got on. He then faced Cain who was 0-er up to that point and gave up a hit before being pulled for the lefty. So really at worst you can argue he was left in for one hitter too long. If you want to argue that then fine but he was pulled immediately for a lefty who got the last two outs. Up 3 runs you're fine with trading an out for a run.

There really isn't any logical to blaming Dusty but then again logic tends to escape you more often then not.

how the actual freak was that 2-2 pitch not a strike????

That one call may have been the difference between a loss and Tanner throwing a CG.  Not excusing Paps, he sucked.

I'm disgusted, but it's not the first crushing defeat I've seen and won't be the last.  Win the series tomorrow and I'll be happy as a clam.

What evidence is there that Roark was left in too long ?

First of all, Dusty left Roark in too long.  Then Papelbon blew it.  What a pity after the Nats played beautifully.

If we bring in a Chapman, Papelbon has to be released.    Simply can't afford to have him around in that situation.
