Damn, just saw the score.  Looks like Murph's streak in coming to an end.  Sad.

Stinker but they happen.  I'm a bit concerned about Scherzer's inconsistency to start the season but he's shown in the past he can recover his dominant form after a bad stretch midseason so I think he'll get it together.  There are certainly concerns (especially Rendon's quiet bat) but, all of that said, if you told me before the season that we would start the season 11-4, I would have taken that every time.  Overall, bad game but it's still been a great start to the season so I can give the team the benefit of the doubt for now.  We should know a lot more in May, when the schedule gets tough and Revere (hopefully) returns.

1 run on 2 hits against Tom Kohler?  Seriously?

I didn't realize this was an early start.  Looking at the comments on this page I assumed we're losing 10-1 but the actual score appears to be 3-1 in the 2nd inning.  I might be remembering wrong, but I think there have been more than a few times in MLB history where teams have come back from that deficit that early and won.

Rendon has been getting robbed left and right on hard hit balls all season long. He could be hitting over .300 easily.  Scherzer has not looked good even when putting up good numbers this year. Maybe it's his arm slot dropping too low. I just know that every time he gives up a hit, the balls are flying off the bat.

Rusty says:

Max wasn't sharp today.  (No crap)

Max saved the bullpen by going 5.  (What a guy)

We have 3 games against Minnesota and then an off day.  (doh)

Need to go home and regroup.  (more doh)

Offense looked a little bit sluggish.  (even more doh)

Not worried about Max.  (really?)

It was a decent road trip.  (4-3?  OK)

Not much else from Rusty, Skippy...sorry...

Phil Wood called Espi a "Gold Glove shortstop."  STOP TEH MADNESS...he is NOT a Gold Glove shortstop!

Rusty says:

We have 3 games against Minnesota and then an off day.  (doh) -- could be an ugly series

Not worried about Max.  (really?) -- I'm not. It's early

It was a decent road trip.  (4-3?  OK) -- not great, but above .500 on the road isn't killer. 5-2 would've been good.

Phil Wood called Espi a "Gold Glove shortstop."  STOP TEH MADNESS...he is NOT a Gold Glove shortstop! -- I'm not going to. It's the only reason he's on the squad right now, because he IS playing solid defense.

So who on this list is Espi on a par with?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Gold_Glove_Award_winners_at_shortstop

You're right, he's not a hip name. A-Rod was the last solid SS on the list (Mike Young, O-Dawg, Jetes are overrated, and got that for the bat). I do really like Hardy & Escobar too (who has a much lower UZR right now).

About what I expected, what about Max? did he give any insight into why he sucked it up today?

He knows exactly what was wrong...just needs to fix it going forward.
