Ross took a liner off the foot or ankle and is being taken out.

This is the time of year experimenting with lineup configuration is a good thing, not a bad one.  If that crap is still happening in mid-July like it was last season, you have bigger problems but ST is made for figuring this stuff out.  At the end of the day, I think we'll all be fairly satisfied with whatever Dusty does with the Opening Day lineup, especially if our health holds up well, as it has so far.

Nats 6-4 in the eighth, I think. Not paying much attention.

Matt Belisle and Burke Badenhop gave up the 7 runs.  Neither is a lock to make the roster by any stretch of the imagination.  Ross, Treinen, and Rivero, the locks who pitched today, gave up 0 runs in 6.1 innings.  So pretty good game despite the loss.

Ross left after an inning with a bruised heel. Hit by a batted ball.

He'll be reevaluated tomorrow.  An initial diagnosis of a contusion can also indicate a fracture because initial swelling can mean you have to wait before you can get a good image of the bone.  Hopefully, it is just a bruise but we won't know for sure until tomorrow.
