It seems like every time they hold the WBC, someone ends up injured and misses part of spring training or the season.
Or worse.  The only thing that sticks out in my mind about it is Luis Ayala.  A very talented and promising relief pitcher for us in 2005, was ruined in the 2006 WBC and was never the same after that.
